Let's Hear It For The Boys!

While it's easy to get caught up in the florals, prints, and details of girls clothes, we are trying to focus on our boys too! We've been working to find some new lines at Market to bring in for all of our fine little men. Read more about some of those new lines below. Also, in celebration of our boys, this week, Monday April 15 through Saturday April 20, all boys clothes sizes 2-7 will be 10% off. Come in and see all the great new things - from play clothes to dressier styles!

Appaman

Launched in the summer of 2003, Appaman is inspired by, and named after, the childhood companion of founder and designer Harald Husum. While growing up in Norway, Husum befriended a corduroy ape named Appaman. Husum uses his Scandinavian perspective as he now finds inspiration on the streets of Brooklyn.

J. Bailey

Brought to us by The Bailey Boys, they describe J. Bailey as "clothing for young men." Diane Bailey created The Bailey Boys in 1987 when she couldn't find clothes she liked for her two young sons, so she started making her own. The Bailey Boys now has four divisions, including J. Bailey. Most of the clothes are made at their plant in Georgia.

Joah Love

Based in LA, Joah Love was founded in 2008. It was created with the philosophy that fashion should never sacrifice comfort, and comfort should never sacrifice style. The name Joah Love has three meanings behind it: 1. "Joah" is a combination of the first two letters in the names of the founders, Joy and Ahyoung. 2. In Korean, to say that you "joah" something, means you really like it. and 2. "Joah" is a Hebrew word that means, "God is his brother." Joah Love clothing is made in the United States.

johnnie-O

Founder John O'Donnell is known to friends as "johnnie-O", thus the name of this brand. O'Donnell grew up in the Chicago suburbs and played golf at UCLA and on the amateur circuit. He got the idea for his apparel line in 2005 as he was helping a buddy with a hobby. He saw an opportunity in design to combine the casual West coast style with the refined East coast look. The resulting look is what O'Donnell likes to describe as "West Coast Prep." Fun fact: one of his brothers is actor Chris O'Donnell.

Kai Bean Kids

In 2010, parent company Flap Happy started Kai Bean Kids. The line mixes trends from menswear with the laidback California lifestyle. Creator Laurie Snyder says that Kai Bean Kids is "the clothing that dads want to wear, but for kids!"

Morfs

Morfs is a nine-year-old business based in Lynchburg, Virgina. Owner/designer Julie Barger's creative eye uses a mix of recycled fabrics, including silks, tweeds, velvets, and more, to create a unique piece of art. Prior to now, Morfs Star Wars t-shirts were only available at Barneys!

Nain and Joe

Founder Andrea Brown has owned parent company, Hannah Kate, since 2000. Nain and Joe premiered in Spring 2012 because she wanted to introduce clothing that was modern, but with a unique and vintage feel. The business is based in Alabama and clothes are made in the United States.

Nano

Two partners created Nano in 2004 to bring children's clothes that are sophisticated in feel, simple in style, and whimsically curious in attitude. Patricia Pienkowski is a Polish born and American schooled fashion designer who had previously worked in design and manufacturing with other children's companies. Her partner, Howard Balch, is originally from Minneapolis and worked in consumer product design for children's products.
And, of course, The Little House still carries many of your other favorite brands for boys! Come in to see all of the darling Spring and Summer things from Florence Eiseman, T.F. Laurence, The Bailey Boys, Splendid, Bella Bliss, Joules and more!
